Years ago when a certain little girl was sketching anyone who would
sit still long enough and creating her own paper dolls, no one
knew that she would grow up to become one of the country’s most
collected artists. At her home in the beautiful Ozark Mountains
of Arkansas, Glynda Turley finds the quiet inspiration for her
oil paintings that have been printed and licensed for lots of
products. Glynda’s artwork reflects her love for God’s creation.
“I strive to take the viewer into a time and place of beauty,
peace, and harmony, where time seems to stand still,” says Glynda.
“I suppose my style of work could be described as romantic.”
Glynda started her “ art career” in the 1970s teaching private art
lessons to neighborhood children and adults. After several years,
Glynda bought into an arts and crafts store with a dear friend.
Through this store, she expanded her teaching and was encouraged
by her students to exhibit at arts and crafts fairs. At one such
fair, Glynda met a sales rep from the gift industry, and the rest
is history. She soon found that she needed to print her originals
to meet demand. Her first two prints were published in 1983. Since
that time, Glynda has published over one hundred prints and has
licensed her designs to numerous companies who have manufactured
a wide variety of gift and home décor products. You may have seen
Glynda’s designs on bedding at JC Penney over the years. Currently,
Glynda’s designs can be found on items such as Bible covers, tapestry
throws, pillows, flags, porcelain, lamps, and more. She continues
to paint and release new designs, which are available through
her factory store, eBay, and select dealers across the country.
